Christmas time is supposed to be happy, joyful and merry, but all too often we feel irritable, angry, grumpy and crazy…not to mention, our pain and losses we’ve experience seem to become amplified during this time.
Lately, I’ve been convicted about the way I react to my kids. Yelling, glaring or even disrespecting them with how I speak to them. Can anyone relate?
I was in tears the other night after having a fight with one of my kids, and even that, why am I fighting with my kids? I am supposed to be the parent.
Anyways, I was laying on my bed in tears and told Clint, “I think parenting is harder now!” – to which Clint laughed and said, “Um you think??”
Here’s the deal. I’m tired of yelling. I’m tired of it. So, I have asked the Lord to help me NOT yell and I have been yell free for FIVE days (at the time this MU was filmed)! 🙂
Every morning, as I feel tension rise up in me toward a child or two, the Holy Spirit gently reminds me of my no yelling desire and I take a breath and refocus.
Maybe you need this reminder, too. Maybe you’re feeling this Christmas season as anything BUT merry.
First of all, you are not alone.
Second. The Lord’s mercies are new every morning.
SO take His mercies and restart and refresh.
That is why the Lord is here. His grace is abundant for today.

We’ve heard from many of you that the way we have been requiring you to track is quite difficult to keep track of things. So we are changing things!
We understand that:
- Not all Advocate areas look the same.
- Collecting too much information has been a distraction to our focus, which is to mobilize the body of Christ to meet needs of the foster care community so that the love of Christ can be shown.
We are going to be putting a lot more focus on the individuals we are serving and we know that comes from story over numbers.
Three times a year, we will only be collecting a story/stories of impact. One time a year we will be collecting more specific information about your area and ministry.
