What is “M on a Mis”?!

By February 3, 2020November 20th, 2020Monthly Update

Are you feeling stretched? Do you try things that fail? Are you learning as you go? Are you becoming more aware of your need for Jesus?

If your answer is yes, then you are right where you need to be.

I’ve been talking with our National team a lot lately about our “Growth-Oriented Culture.”

John Maxwell in his book, Leadershift, defines a growth-oriented culture as one that:

  • Values Development
  • Focuses on Stretching
  • Honors Serving
  • Emphasize the Student
  • Target is Growth

Perfection is not the goal. Focus on forward progress. Imperfect progress.

Let’s allow our NEED, to drive us to our great God who is our faithful leader and believe His word when it says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In ALL your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

Team, we are FOR you. We are WITH you.

Isn’t it awesome that together, we get to help people everywhere support the foster care community, and experience Jesus together!

Key Takeaways from January Round Tables

It was a joy to be with many of you a this past month’s January Advocate Round Tables to discuss how TFI ministries are pouring into agency workers and how we want to see growth in this area as well. I’ve heard from multiple of you how encouraging and challenging these conversations were for you.

Here are the Key Takeaways:

1 – Grow Genuine Relationships

We want people—in this case—workers to feel seen and appreciated. We want them to know we not only care about them as a foster care worker—but as a person, too. Challenge yourself to be intentional and figure out how you can build genuine relationships with more agency workers.

2 – Listen, Learn, Grow

It can be easy to come to a place of complacency in our support to and relationships with agencies. We need to stop, have a willingness to listen and learn so that we are always be supporting agencies the best we can. And with that comes continual growth in our ministries!

Advocate Retreat

We can’t wait to see you at the Advocate Retreat later this year on September 9th-11th. Did you see the Retreat Website?! Go check that out and don’t forget to RSVP by March 2nd!

Advocate Ministry Transition

Aaron and Shannon Spaid have stepped out of the Advocate role in Bloomington, IL, but we’re so thankful to have Shannon continue to serve with us on the national team AND now have Kelly Schwamberger as the Bloomington, IL Advocate!
