Power of Choice Campaign
While visiting with one of our agencies, they told us about their desire to make sure each of the kids they care for feels like an individual. They want them to feel seen and heard. A lot of times, kids in care feel like they have very little control over anything that’s happening in their life. Most choices are made for them in an effort to provide for them and keep them safe.
The agency requested gift cards with the purpose of giving these kids choice. What kind of body wash do they prefer? How special would it be for them to choose an outfit they like? These seem like simple things, but to a child in foster care, it can make a huge difference.
You can purchase gift cards (Old Navy, TJ Maxx and Bath and Body Works were the top requests. We are also accepting Walmart and Ingles gift cards that would go more toward helping entire foster families)
You can give here online. Make sure to put Power of Choice in the memo and select which type of gift card you prefer.
With every project, we like to give people the opportunity to use their time, connections and talents. If you own a local business, or know someone who does, please tell them about this project. How special would it be for our kids here to feel supported and loved by the local community! We are specifically looking for hairdressers and restaurants, but are open to other ideas!

No. We love our local agencies, and we support them in all that we do through awareness, encouragement, and advocacy.
