Our vision at TFI is to see people everywhere supporting the foster care community and experiencing Jesus together! We’d love to help you or your church or group explore how your unique passions and gifts intersect with the needs of those in our local foster care community. There are SO many ways to get involved. Let’s talk and find your ONE first step!
Here are some ideas to get you thinking:
- Host a foster care agency to speak or set up a table during your church service
- Host a foster care agency fair for those who may be interested in fostering
- Collect restaurant or shopping gift cards for fostering families
- Plan and host a foster parents’ night out
- Write notes of encouragement for social workers
- Invite foster families to events your church is already putting on (VBS, movie nights, fellowships, etc.)
- Collect new underwear and PJs for kids entering care
- Start a wrap-around ministry to provide support for foster families within your church
- Donate new or like-new items to a local foster closet
- Collect snacks/lunch items for children waiting in the DSS office
- Put together frozen casseroles for foster families to pick up and have on hand for when needed
- Volunteer with us at events
- Take breakfast/snacks to a local agency for their workers
- Sponsor a foster child’s Christmas list
- Collect school supplies for children in care
- Purchase an item from our Amazon wish list to help re-do our local DSS resource room
